In between our training sessions with John, we were told to work with our pups for two hours each day. It could be consecutively or separately, whatever would work with our schedule. The first class covered basic leash skills and how to go through doorways. While this may seem easy, it can be a little hard when it comes to the little dogs. The human must always go first which helps assert dominance and remind them who is alpha.
To do this, Hannah and Ivy have to heel, sit, and wait until being called. Hannah was great with heel and sit, but we had to work a bit harder on waiting to be called to go through the doorway. She doesn’t quite understand why she needs to listen to those instructions, and would much rather be by my side. With practice, though, I’m sure she will get it right!
Two Weeks Later…
She did it!
