Ch-ch-ch-changes

At the beginning of last week, Hannah went on her first long walk. She had some issues with pulling and wanting to be right next to her sister no matter the cost, but after some time, she started to do a great job. The next day, we had some bad news. Parvo has come back with a vengeance in this area.

Parvo is a very contagious and deadly disease especially for animals who are not fully vaccinated. (https://www.avma.org/resources-tools/pet-owners/petcare/canine-parvovirus). While the puppies have had their first shot, they need all 3 sets to be completely safe. A week after their last booster, we will be able to resume walks in the community.

We are counting down the days untl April 3rd!

We were originally told that they would be safe if we kept them away from other dogs and their feces, but with this new information, we will be even more cautious. They will be at home unless going to the vet.

I am a bit disappointed that after such a big win, but know that Hannah and Ivy are smart enough to pick up where we left off once we can head out in public again. Until then, we will reinforce skills like sit, stay, paws up, and off. The trainer will also introduce skills like come and back.
